DIY skills Staining timbers prior to clear coating
Where virgin timbers are presented for staining prior to coating, we recommend the following:
- Use a solvent-based product.
- Go back over the applied area with solvent to re-distribute the intensity of the stain.
- Apply stains directly to the timber, not after the surface has been sealed or primed.
- Ensure adequate drying time before applying Northane Clear or any of our other clear finishes.
